[Mapping] All about the mapping module

Summary

Mapping module - Retrieve supplier information and translate it into your format.

What is it?

The mapping module allows you to structure the supplier/seller catalogs to facilitate their integration. This step can be delegated to your suppliers directly from your supplier portals.

What is the purpose of the mapping module?

Its objective is to quickly align your suppliers'/vendors' data models with yours by automatically reconciling the columns of the suppliers' catalogs to your taxonomy.

This mapping step is necessary to structure the catalogs and facilitate their integration into your internal systems (e.g.: PIM, ERP, Marketplace...). Indeed, the file formats of your suppliers are multiple and your taxonomy is very rarely respected.

Let's say that in your taxonomy, the product name is registered under the property/column "title". In your supplier, this same information is recorded under "product", so you will have to map your supplier's column to yours.

Once this mapping is done, it will not be necessary to do it for the next catalogs because this module has a memory.

In this example, we can see that 7 fields have been mapped automatically out of the 17.

Only the required fields must be mapped to proceed to the next step.
