Connector Compatibility
Before installing the connector, please make sure Akeneo for Salesforce is compatible with your Akeneo PIM and Salesforce Clouds and Editions.
Ensuring compatibility from one version to another remains our priority. Thanks to Akeneo API, Akeneo Connector for Salesforce is natively compatible with new versions of Akeneo PIM although it may not include all latest features.
PIM compatibility
The Akeneo Connector for Salesforce Commerce/Platform was originally built with Akeneo PIM Serenity SaaS. It will be maintained, to support the latest versions and features of Akeneo PIM. Please refer to our Marketplace website to know if our connector is compatible with your PIM version.
Akeneo Connector for Salesforce is compatible with:
- All supported PIM versions (Serenity)
Compatibility
The Akeneo Connector for Salesforce Commerce/Platform uses the new Catalog for Apps API endpoints which require this feature to be enabled in order to use this connector.

The Salesforce connector works with multiple Salesforce cloud instances and editions.
- Enterprise
- Unlimited
It also supports the following clouds of Salesforce:
- Salesforce Sales Cloud
- Salesforce Service Cloud
- Salesforce B2B Commerce Cloud
- Salesforce Experience Cloud
Other clouds can be supported if Product2 Object is available and object access is allowed as part of the org license set.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud Compatibility
To benefit from all the current features of the connector a Salesforce Commerce license is required.
Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a Cloud solution that self-updates automatically and will be compatible with the latest Salesforce Commerce Cloud release.

Salesforce Releases Compatibility
Salesforce releases are regular updates to the Salesforce platform that introduce new features, enhancements, and bug fixes. These releases typically occur three times a year and are named after the season in which they are released (Winter, Spring, and Summer).

The app is designed to support future Salesforce releases. This means that it has been developed using best practices and standards that ensure compatibility with future versions of the Salesforce platform.
Please note that while we strive to ensure that our app is compatible with the latest Salesforce releases, there may be instances where certain features or functionality may not work as expected with future versions of the Salesforce platform.

Who should install the Connector?
Installing the Akeneo Connector for Salesforce Platform is a technical process.
We therefore recommend that you ask a technical resource with a proven track of Salesforce Administration 2 skills to perform the installation of such connector.
Does Akeneo Connector for Salesforce Platform work "out-of-the-box"?
Akeneo PIM is flexible enough for you to create many different catalog structures, the modeling of your catalog and the features of your project may impact the usage of your Akeneo connector.
We did everything possible to ensure that this Connector adapts to your modeling, hence the different parameters of this Connector to adapt to your needs.

If the multiple configurations of the Akeneo Connector don't suit your business logic, or if you want to have other possibilities for import, you can customise Akeneo Connector for Salesforce.
From our experience, we know that it may be necessary to implement specific customisations for your project. This is why Akeneo provides you with the source code of this connector.
The Akeneo Connector for Salesforce is developed using Apex, Lightning Apps and Salesforce REST APIs https://developer.salesforce.com/developer-centers/integration-apis
Therefore, its customisation requires a development team familiar with this specific Salesforce declarative and programmatic features.
