This enhancement on our Tailored Imports completes the Data Architect Agent journey — taking you from a generated data model all the way to a live catalog with real products. It makes the Data Architect Agent more than a modeling tool — it’s now a fast, reliable way to get products live and start iterating with real data from day one.

✨ What’s new:

💬 Data Architect Chat (experimental) — Before importing, review the modeling with a new, AI-powered assistant designed to guide you through Akeneo PIM modeling concepts and best practices.

After generating a data model, you can now ask questions directly within the Data Architect Chat to better understand or validate your choices — from fundamentals like “What is a family?” to more advanced guidance such as “Are my attributes well defined?”

🧠 AI-Powered Mapping – Automatically map your source file columns to PIM attributes in seconds. What used to take hours of manual work is now generated instantly, and fully transparent.

🖼️ Asset Mapping in One Flow – Create, map, and link images or videos to products during the same import. No more separate asset steps or workarounds.

🧩 Automatic Family Categorization – If your file doesn’t include a family column, AI analyzes the full product row and assigns the right family for you.

Customizable Auto-Tagging via AI Configurations

Introducing customizable AI configurations to bring more precision to automated asset tagging in Akeneo DAM. Previously, asset tagging followed a standard, default behavior. 

Now, you can define how the AI analyzes and describes your images by creating specific instructions (or "prompts") to guide the AI to focus on the attributes that matter most to your business, such as materials, colors, or specific design elements.
You can also instruct the AI to exclude certain terms, like brand names or trademarks, or to prioritize technical characteristics over lifestyle descriptions. Plus, AI configurations are centralized in Akeneo, making it easy to apply the same logic across multiple asset families to ensure your entire asset library remains consistent and searchable.
Once a configuration is defined and tested, it can be automatically applied to your assets. This removes the need for manual review and correction of generic tags, while ensuring your asset metadata is accurate and compliant with your standards.

Note: This update is optional. The system will continue to use the default auto-tagging behavior until a configuration for asset tagging is set up. 

Instant “Ask AI” Enrichment: AI at Your Fingertips

We’ve completely reimagined how teams interact with Generative AI in Akeneo with Instant “Ask AI” enrichment, making AI faster to discover, easier to use, and more impactful than ever. A new “Ask AI” purple button is now directly available on the product edit form, allowing users to generate or translate content instantly, without any setup.

Whether you need a quick draft or full control, teams can choose between Smart mode for fast, zero-configuration enrichment, or Advanced mode for brand-specific rules and governance. This new experience dramatically accelerates content creation, lowers the barrier to AI adoption, and puts AI-driven productivity directly in the hands of business users — while keeping security and permissions firmly under admin control.

💡 Good to know: This experience is part of the new Product Edit Form (Beta). Users can easily switch from the Classic view to try it out and help shape the future of Akeneo’s UI.

This month, we’re rolling out a set of small yet game-changing improvements 🚀 that make everyday work in Akeneo PIM more powerful, flexible, and developer-friendly.

🔍 Smarter Product Grid Search & Filtering (see screenshot below)
Finding the right products in large catalogs just got a lot easier.

Filter by Reference Entity Attributes
Go beyond product-level data and filter products using the attributes of linked Reference Entities (text, numbers, options, references, or assets).
Example: Instantly find all products where the brand’s country is 🇫🇷 France or 🇬🇧 the UK — directly from the product grid.

Search Products by Text Attribute Values
You’re no longer limited to searching by labels or identifiers. Products can now be found using specific text attribute values, once enabled for search.
Example: If your catalog uses secondary identifiers or shared SKUs, you can search directly on those values from the grid.

New “Children” Filter in the Product Grid
Navigate complex product hierarchies more easily by finding the parent products or product models linked to a specific variant or sub-model.
Example: Enter a product identifier and immediately see its parent and root product models in multi-level catalogs.

🔐 Stronger Gouvernance with Granular Permissions
Akeneo continues to strengthen access control to help teams work securely and stay focused.

User Permissions Available via API (Channel & Locale)
Developers can now retrieve user permissions for channels and locales through the API. This makes it easier to build secure, context-aware UI extensions that only display what a user is authorized to see.

Permissions to View Unclassified Products
Gain finer control over catalog visibility by restricting access to products that haven’t yet been assigned to a category. Only authorized users can see and work on unclassified products.
Example: Central product teams can prepare early or draft products before categorization, without exposing them to local teams.

📤  Smarter Exports for Clearer, Consistent Outputs

We’ve continued refining export capabilities to ensure your data stays clear, structured, and perfectly aligned across all downstream systems and documents.
🌳 Category Exports with Position Data
When exporting categories, you can now include their position within the category tree, preserving the exact order defined in Akeneo.
Example: External systems can replicate your category hierarchy and visual order exactly as managed in the PIM.

📄 Polished PDF Exports (Much More Readable!)
PDF exports have been significantly improved for business and merchandising use:

• Table attributes now export labels instead of technical codes
• Headers and select options respect the correct locale
• Measurement units (metrics) are now fully supported

Result: cleaner, clearer, and far more business-friendly documents.

🖱️ Drag & Drop for Reference Entity Attributes (Single & Multi)

Reference Entity attributes now support drag-and-drop reordering. Managing complex lists is faster, more intuitive, and far less tedious.

🔗 Attribute Dependencies: Product Links Now Supported

Product Link attributes can now be used as dependent attributes with the “is displayed” condition. This gives you more flexibility to design smarter, more contextual enrichment forms.

⚡ Faster Navigation with Shift + Click

You can now Shift-click (Maj + Click) items in the main and secondary menus to open them in a new tab — a small shortcut that power users will love for multitasking.
