Ask Ziggy is an AI-powered assistant built directly into the Akeneo PIM. It helps you explore your catalog, understand your data, search Akeneo documentation, and get best-practice advice - all through natural language.

Ask Ziggy is read-only. It can help you explore and understand your catalog data, but it cannot create, update, or delete anything in your PIM.

 

Ask Ziggy works in multiple languages, so you can ask questions and receive answers in the language you are most comfortable with. Ask Ziggy is available on all Akeneo SaaS editions.


Access Ask Ziggy

Ask Ziggy appears as a chat icon in the bottom-right corner of the PIM interface. You can drag the icon along the edges of your screen to reposition it - your preferred position is remembered across sessions.

Click the icon to open the Ask Ziggy panel on the right-hand side of your screen. The panel overlays the existing PIM interface, so you can continue viewing your catalog while chatting with Ziggy.

On first use, the Ask Ziggy chat icon can be found in the bottom-right corner of the PIM. Selecting this will open the open chat panel on the right-hand side

To start a new conversation, click the New Chat button at the top of the panel . You can also access your conversation history by clicking the clock icon next to New Chat - this lets you search and revisit past conversations.


What Ask Ziggy can do

Ask Ziggy has access to Akeneo Help Center documentation and for each tenant also access to that's tenant's PIM configuration (e.g. enabled features and package) as well PIM data. Below is an overview of everything Ask Ziggy can help you with.

Search Akeneo documentation

Ask Ziggy can search the Akeneo Help Center and documentation to answer your questions without leaving the PIM. This includes explaining Product Cloud concepts, giving step-by-step guidance on how to do things, clarifying standard error codes, and describing features.

  • "How do I set up a new Channel?"
  • "Explain the syntax for rule conditions."

Explore your catalog

Ziggy can read and explain anything in your catalog. Ask about:

  • Families and Family Variants - including required Attributes per Channel
  • Attributes, Attribute Groups, and Attribute Options
  • Association Types (cross-sell, upsell, etc.)

  • Reference Entities and Records
  • Media files attached to your products
Your channels and localization
  • Channels with their Locales, currencies, and Category trees
  • Enabled/disabled Locales and Currencies
  • Measurement Families with units and conversions
Your configurations
  • Workflows you have enabled
  • AI enrichment configurations
  • Rules you have configured

  • "What Attributes are required for the Clothing Family on the ecommerce Channel?"

Review and debug configurations

Ziggy can help you review JSON configurations and troubleshoot how features work. Paste your config or describe what you need, and Ziggy will explain the syntax, flag issues, and suggest corrections.

This works for any feature documented in the Akeneo Help Center, including:

  • Rule conditions and rule definitions
  • AI enrichment configuration schemas
  • Asset transformations
  • Linking rules
  • Workflow configurations

For features where Ziggy has direct access to your tenant (rules, workflows, AI configurations), it can also tell you what you currently have set up - for example, "How many AI enrichment configurations do I have enabled?" or "Show me my active rules."

Get best-practice advice

Ask Ziggy can provide read-only recommendations based on your catalog data and Akeneo documentation. This includes suggestions for improving your data model, refining your taxonomy, and analyzing Family-to-Attribute mappings.

Manage access to Ask Ziggy

Ask Ziggy is enabled by default for all user roles. If you need to restrict access for specific user groups, you can do so through role permissions.

  1. Go to System > Roles.
  2. Select the role you want to modify.
  3. Click Permissions > AI.
  4. Uncheck Ask Ziggy: AI Conversational Assistant.
  5. Click Save.

Users assigned to that role will no longer see the Ask Ziggy icon in the PIM.


Tips for getting the best results

  • Be specific. Instead of "tell me about my products," try "show me all Attributes required for the Shoes Family on the ecommerce Channel."
  • Ask in your language. Ask Ziggy works in multiple languages - ask in whichever language is most natural for you.
  • Use conversation history. Click the clock icon next to New Chat to revisit and continue past conversations.
  • Validate Ziggy's answers. Always validate Ziggy's answer and share feedback where answers do not match your expectations by using the thumbs up or thumbs down buttons
