Use the Assign to bulk action in Akeneo PIM to send copies of existing products to a Supplier Organization. Suppliers work on pending copies in their organization's catalog without changing the source products directly.

Before you start

• Your role must allow you to run the Assign to bulk action.
• An administrator must create the Supplier Organization and configure its Attribute selection.
• Add external users to the Supplier Organization before enabling email notifications.

Assign products to a Supplier Organization

To share existing products from the Akeneo PIM Product Grid:

1. Open the Product Grid.
2. Select the products or Product Models to share.
3. Click Bulk actions.
4. Select Assign to.
5. Select the Supplier organization.
6. Set Do you want to notify supplier users by email? to Yes or No.
7. Confirm the bulk action.

The mass-edit job creates pending copies of the selected items in the Supplier Organization's catalog. Assigning the same source product to two Supplier Organizations creates two independent pending copies, one for each organization.

The Assign to bulk action requires a Supplier Organization and lets the internal user enable or disable email notifications.

Notify Supplier Organization users

When email notification is enabled, every user linked to the Supplier Organization receives an email with the subject New products have been shared with your organization. The email identifies the organization and the number of items assigned.

Assign Product Models

When Product Model assignment is available, the Assign to bulk action creates pending copies of the selected Product Models. If the action displays a Product Model warning, only the variant products are assigned with their own Attribute values; Product Model Attribute values are not included.
